Political stability, the natural beauty of the landscape, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters together with a warming and welcoming people are the main factors attracting foreign investment into the tourism sector in Angola today.
This statement was made by the Secretary of State for Hotels and Tourism, Alfredo Caputo, who spoke to the press during the act of constitution of the Association of Hotels and Resorts of Angola (AHRA), during the International Tourism Week.
Alfredo Caputo, on this occasion appealed for the need for agents of this sector to practice balanced prices, making the country more attractive as a tourism destination.
“By these means, we can contribute towards the solution of currently existing problems in the hotels and tourism sector helping improve the process of diversification of our country” – highlighted the governor.
The Association of Hotels and Tourism of Angola intends to boost the tourism sector in the country with high quality services and the implementation of a code of ethics for professionals whilst additionally contributing to the diversification of sources of income for the state.
The President of the Established Commission of AHRA, the businessman Armindo César, said on this occasion that these measures will attract more foreign tourism to Angola and consequently contribute to the inflow of currency for continued growth of the national economy. Angola currently has 191 hotels of various categories and 104 resorts, that directly employ 12,193 workers.
Forecasts for the coming year point to the opening of around 600 hotels, 117 resorts in the whole of Angola leading to the creation of 70,000 new jobs.
